Per il terzo anno consecutivo, un'inchiesta della BBC che si occupa dell'opinione della gente sulle varie nazioni ha evidenziato che la Germania è il paese più popolare a livello mondiale. Durante questa indagine, ad oltre 30.000 persone di 28 nazioni è stato chiesto cosa ne pensassero degli altri paesi. Il 59 % degli intervistati considerava positiva l'influenza esercitata dalla Germania a livello mondiale. Il Giappone distaccava di poco la Germania, occupando il secondo posto con il 53%, seguito dal Regno Unito (52%), il Canada (51%) e la Francia (49%). L'Unione Europea è vista in maniera positiva dal 53%.

Le esportazioni tedesche hanno continuato a crescere nel secondo trimestre del 2010, con cifre che a maggio indicavano un incremento annuo del 5,74% ed una crescita mensile dell'11%. Le esportazioni alimentari ed agro-industriali sono state pari a 20 miliardi di euro per i primi cinque mesi del 2010. Nel settore del bestiame, il pollame ha mostrato un aumento del 28% rispetto al 2009. Risultati ottimi sono stati raggiunti anche dai produttori di birra tedeschi, con un incremento del 30%, seguiti dagli alcolici con il 21% e dal vino con il 16%. Il settore tedesco delle esportazioni beneficia dell'attuale ripresa economica mondiale ed anche di un euro debole, che rende convenienti le merci oltreoceano. Mentre i paesi UE restano i più importanti partner per l'export della Germania, i mercati emergenti hanno portato ad una nuova crescita sostanziale per i settori alimentare ed agro-industriale. Con l'Ifo Business Climate Index balzato ad un livello su base triennale di 106,2 punti a luglio, l'economia della Germania cresce con vigore ed il trend delle esportazioni è chiaramente verso l'alto. Gli analisti e gli esportatori sono fiduciosi riguardo al fatto che questo sviluppo proseguirà nella seconda metà di quest'anno.
